Graham’s MKIII
This is Graham’s 1989 Targa Toyota Supra and if you’re like me (Spending hours looking at photos of cars), you’ve seen photos of this Supra circulating around lately. Perhaps that’s why curiosity got the best of me and I had the urge to know more about it beides the way it looked. So I hope everyone else appreciates the story behind those same circulating posts:
Graham had been looking for a car with pop up headlights and a Targa for a while. Something that needed to scream 80’s JDM.
So in May, when a clean 100k+ mile Supra became available in Ohio Graham went ahead and bought it. Then had it shipped to Minnesota where it currently resides.
As for the juicy details, you can tell the car has been well kept and cared for. The head has been professionally cleaned, milled, and redone while all the gaskets have been replaced as wel. But beside a rebuild, the car has also managed to see some tasteful upgrades including 550cc injectors, a DM Intercooler Kit, 6 puck clutch, DM short throw kit, Mishimoto radiator, oil catch can, new ct26 turbo, cat less downpipe, and a 3 inch complete exhaust system. It also has an upgraded 340lph fuel pump, boost controller, and A/R gauge.
In the future, Graham looks forward to some aesthetic upgrades such as an aftermarket front bumper, side skirts, and rear diffuser. Some other upgrades include chopping off the resonator and turning up the boost a few lbs for more smiles per gallon.
Thanks so much Graham for working with me to answer some questions as well as your patience to get this posted. Hope to see more photos of the car and what it’ll look like with the Diffusor and other goodies!
Also a big thanks to Joseph @yhatzee89 for motivating me to start posting again! Lol
