The Mechanic’s Daughter

This unique 84’ P-Type is owned by Kiauna Hemenway

This car caught my eye while scrolling through Insta and I had to take a double take when I noticed the Cherry Blossoms Which I thought was totally rad and decided to feature it.

So how did you get into Supra’s and get ahold of yours?

“So I’ve been around cars my whole life, my dad is a mechanic and owns his own shop. I started out working on my Jeep way back in the day and when I was picking up my sister, I looked across the street and there it was sitting, all covered in leaves and dust. Went straight over and bought it. Did some tune up work on it and been trying to drift it more and more at my local events. I just recently bought an IS300 as well that I have a swap for and I’m going to try and make that my track car and make the supra turn into something nice and be maybe more of a show car possibly. But as time goes we will see. As far as getting into supras, I always enjoyed the mk4s a ton and been into JDM since I was 14, so Supra is a big name for the JDM world and to find a classic one at that is what makes me really happy because the mk2s especially mine being an 84 p-type and by far one of the most rare of the second generation.”

What are your future plans for it?

“S13 swap the subframe, do the suspension after that, cheaper, replace fenders, rebuild the trans, fix the exhaust so it’s not just straight piped. When the motor blows, I’ll swap in a new motor, haven’t decided yet tho, probably whatever I’m in the mood for in that point in time”

Thanks so much for answering questions and sharing such awesome photos. I actually got to learn a new thing or two from this feature as well. So thank you for that as well.
